Learn what is expected of you in each position and prepare you for your first day on the job. This in depth course will walk you through each position in the department and explain in detail what is expected of you, and what you can expect.

  • Costume Intern

    • General rules and conduct

    • Getting the most out of the experience

  • Costume PA

    • First day on the job

    • Responsibilities & Expectations​

    • Who you report to

    • What you should know walking in

    • How to read call sheets and schedules

    • How to write up tags

    • How to check in purchases

    • How to organize returns

  • Costumer (role of each type)

    • Key, key BG, principle set, additional, shop, fitting, truck

    • Union vs non-union

  • Setting up your day (each position)

    • Prepping costumes

    • Tracking continuity

  • Who’s who on set and to whom you direct your questions

  • Walkie etiquette (vocabulary)

  • Set etiquette: rules and expectations

  • Basic on-set aging and blood work

Lesson Goals

To attain a clear understanding of each position and how to work within the department as a whole. By the end of the class each student will be prepared to walk in on the first day ready to start work.
